Growing up as a child I had to learn a lot of things the hard way. As I got older I’ve experienced and achieved a lot of things in my life that has made me into the mature young lady I am today. I am happy that I’ve accomplished so many things that have made an impact on me. I know now because of my mother, I am willing to do more in life to make my family proud. My mother is a role model. She has had a significant influence on me because of her positive attitude. When I feel like I’m ready to give up on my goals she’s the person that keeps me going in life. From watching her and seeing how hard she works to provide for me and my brothers I do believe that she’s a hero, because even though my mother struggles she still does what she needs to do in order to keep our family satisfied. I love that she is smart, intelligent and stands up for herself. Me and my mother do not always get along, but I’m happy that through all of our problems, we can work through them. My mother is not perfect and I’m not either, but because we both try to do something positive with our lives I feel as though that has been a great accomplishment. Her influence has inspired me to become a more positive person. No matter how much people try to put me down, I always try to respect others. I do believe that going to college is the best option for me because I work hard at everything I do. The colleges that have my interest is Temple, Cheyney, or Lincoln University. I feel as though I could bring a positive attitude if I do get selected to go to one of these colleges because I’m willing to do whatever it takes to succeed in life. Just like my mother I want to accomplish a lot in life and thanks to her I know that I can make something of myself.
